Introduction
You have an important role. You know what your new priorities are and you have a clear and concrete plan of action. Alas, your teams and employees are still doing the same things they have always done.
If you are looking at them wondering "What are they waiting for to implement the strategy?" then this newsletter is for you. It is devoted to our new book "Leading Strategy Execution" to be published in May by Kogan Page.

One idea to ...
...to facilitate the deployment of your strategy: "Make training unnecessary!"
Fifteen years ago, every new version of Word or Excel required additional training. Today, you switch into new versions without even realising. Microsoft have succeeded in making training unnecessary. They have achieved this by preserving the essence of how the software operates, retaining the form and colour of familiar icons and providing immediate online or off-line answers to your questions. You don't need to learn something you have immediate access to!
Not only that, if you are a novice trying to create your first graph or chart for example, you are aided by an almost magically appearing bubble that offers you the opportunity to learn new functionality in easy to follow steps, just when you need it.
How do you apply these principles to facilitate the deployment of a major project?
At all stages, try and limit the number of changes each individual has to make to an essential minimum.
Place at their disposal (for example, on their PC desktop) a knowledge base allowing them to immediately access necessary information.
Look at ways of providing step by step support for employees just at the moment they have to carry out a new task for the first time.
If, despite everything, training remains essential - and it is sometimes the case; insist on contacting the best training providers in the market...you will find a good address at the foot of the page!

A Figure: 58% |

When 1.500 world leaders were questioned on what they saw as the main obstacles associated with implementing change, only 8% of them quoted technology issues, but 58% mentioned the difficulty of changing the attitudes and behaviors of employees!

Our new book focuses on the three aspects that are key to ensuring strategies are executed. Which of the following is not one of them:
| A - |
Energy of Engagement
| B - |
Energy of Management
| C - |
Energy of Wind
Answers:
Energy of engagement is important and so employees must understand the strategy, want to implement it and finally know how to. Whilst management is often neglected, they are a key group who if focused on execution and supported can help deliver fantastic results. Whilst wind power is an important to avoid climate change, we typically find "hot air" doesn't help deliver results!
